‘The Jesus Storybook Bible’ -  by Sally Lloyd-Jones (see here)

In medieval times, do you know how you got your good news? A herald blew a trumpet. The herald would blow the trumpet to let you know ‘The battle is won!’

Good news is telling you something great has happened – something so wonderful that when you hear it, it fills your heart up with joy.

The Bible calls the true stories about Jesus’ life ‘Good News like a herald would send’.

Why are they Good News? Because they’re telling us what Jesus has done to bring us home to God. They’re telling us our Rescuer has come! And the battle is won!

‘I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Saviour... has been born!’ Luke 2:10, 11 (NLT)
